LADIES EVENING

The Ladies to Dine Evening was held on Friday 12th of April, once again there was an excellent turnout with sixty-one attending, including our President Alan Kirby.

Our Captain for this year Alan Woods welcomed the Ladies, thanking them for continuing to allow us to play golf.

As is usual for the ladies to dine evening we had a carvery, West Lancs once again served up an excellent meal, prawn coctail to start, followed by the carvery, with a choice of chicken curry, chilli-con-carne, gammon and chicken, a couple of different salads etc. This was followed by choice of desserts or cheese and biscuits, finally rounded off with coffee.

The raffle was next with much banter and humour, this year fortunately the prizes were evenly spread throughout the room.

Then it was into the lounge for a few drinks and a chat before leaving.

Thanks go again for the huge effort that Keith Anderson puts in to keep the section afloat (not forgetting Jim Drewe who manages the finances).

LADIES EVENING

The Ladies to dine Evening was held on Friday 13th of April, once again there was a good turnout with more than fifty  people attending, including our President Dr. Robert Armstrong and his guests.

Our Captain for this year Alan Rumph said a few words after we had eaten. As is usual for the ladies to dine evening we had a carvery, West Lancs once again served up an excellent meal.

The raffle was next with much banter and humour, although this year those that sold the tickets had very little luck.

Thanks go again for the huge effort that Keith Anderson puts in to keep the section afloat.

GOLF A.G.M.

The A.G.M. was held on Friday 7th October at West Lancs Golf Club, more than twenty members attended, and were treated to another fine three course meal.

After the meal the secretary read out the minutes of the previous years A.G.M., these were agreed. Jim Drewe then gave the treasurers report, stating that finances were in good order, taking into consideration that two Hot-Pot functions had been cancelled during the year. The accounts were then agreed. Jim then thanked Dave Green for auditing the accounts.

Keith Anderson then gave his report as secretary, once again stating that not only did cancelling funtions mean our golf is more expensive, but that we let down West Lancs. He urged all members to attend future functions.

We then had the election of the committee, with all prepared to stand for another year this was accepted and we moved on to the election of our Captain. Our outgoing Captain Glyn Pike, said that he had enjoyed his year in office, but it had passed so quickly. The Past Captains had proposed Alan Rumph, and those present voted unanimously in favour of this. Alan then explained he had been a member of the golf section for more than twenty years, and he looked forward to the coming year as Captain. He then closed the meeting by inviting everbody to the bar for a drink.
